Currently, all major online platforms such as Etsy, eBay, and others charge sales tax and often impose high transaction fees. These taxes are collected by the platforms, not by us, and it is unclear how they are utilized. In many cases, even after paying these fees, customers may still be required to pay additional taxes upon receiving their orders.

However, when purchasing directly from our self-built website, these taxes are not applicable. Buyers only need to acknowledge that if their local customs require import duties upon receiving the goods, they are responsible for paying those charges themselves. Our role is solely to create and ship the products, meaning the prices we charge cover only the cost of the items and production—we do not collect any taxes.

Additionally, I am exploring how to effectively manage and promote my website. Although it has been around for a while, it hasn’t gained much traffic or sales, so it currently serves mainly as a place for announcements. One major challenge is visibility—whenever I try to promote my site on search engines, larger platforms like Etsy and eBay dominate the results, making it difficult for people to find my website.
